HOUSTON – If you were born and raised in Houston, you’ve been to the rodeo more times than you can count, and you’re somehow just learning about The Hideout, you’re definitely not alone.
The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo has announced its 2026 live music lineup for The Hideout, the Rodeo’s own honky-tonk, and if you’ve never been, this might be the year to change that.

So, first things first: what is The Hideout?
The Hideout is a 21-and-up dance hall located inside a large white tent on the west side of NRG Arena.
It’s been part of the rodeo experience for nearly 30 years, but many Houstonians don’t discover it until someone finally lets them in on the secret.
Inside, you’ll find:
- A spacious dance floor
- Multiple bars
- Live music every night
- A more intimate concert experience than the stadium
And the best part? You don’t need a stadium concert ticket!
As long as you’re 21 or older, all it takes is general admission to NRG Park.
Why people swear by it
The Hideout isn’t just a dance hall; it’s a proving ground for artists on their way up. Big names like Blake Shelton, Keith Urban and The Chicks once played this very stage before becoming rodeo headliners.
Rodeo President and CEO Chris Boleman says that’s why fans should pay attention to who’s playing.
“The spectacular musicians that play The Hideout stage often become some of music’s biggest entertainers,” Boleman said. “We highly encourage attendees to come see these acts up close and personal while they still can.”
Translation: today’s Hideout artist could be tomorrow’s NRG Stadium headliner.
When it’s open
The Hideout is open daily from 6 p.m. to midnight during the rodeo.
Live music starts:
- 10 p.m. on weeknights (Monday–Friday)
- 8 p.m. on weekends (Saturday–Sunday)
It’s perfect for a late-night stop after the main concert—or as the main event if you’re skipping the stadium altogether.
