A 20-year-old man was killed inside his southwest Houston apartment Tuesday night in what police believe was a targeted shooting.
Officers were dispatched around 10:49 p.m. to the 10300 block of Lands End Drive near Stancliff Road after reports of gunfire. When they arrived, police observed multiple bullet holes throughout the apartment complex.
During a welfare check, officers found the man inside his apartment. Investigators say the victim lived alone and had no known criminal history.
Police believe the shooting was targeted. At least 20 shots were fired in the courtyard outside the apartment, and officers are still counting shell casings. HPD said there are five to six persons of interest they would like to speak with. No suspects have been identified at this time.
Video from the scene shows bullet holes through apartment windows. Family members, including the victim’s father, arrived at the scene following the shooting.
HPD continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the deadly incident and urges anyone with information to contact the Houston Police Department or Crime Stoppers.
This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
