Houston firefighters are working to determine what caused a house fire late Tuesday night in southwest Houston that sent two people to the hospital.
The fire broke out around 10:30 p.m. at a home in the 12700 block of Huntington Venture Drive near West Bellfort, according to the Houston Fire Department.
Firefighters say the original 911 call came in as a car fire in the garage. The call was later upgraded to a house fire as flames quickly spread from the garage to the rest of the home.
Cellphone video from the scene shows large flames shooting out of the house as crews worked to put out the fire.
Two people were found outside the home when firefighters arrived. Both were transported to the hospital, but their ages and conditions have not been released.
HFD says the fire was brought under control quickly. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, with arson investigators working to determine what sparked the blaze.
This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
