Apartment fire forces evacuations in Richmond, cause under investigation

Firefighters battle flames at Mustang Crossing complex

RICHMOND, Texas – Several apartment buildings were evacuated early Sunday morning after a large fire broke out at an apartment complex in Richmond, according to the Richmond Fire Department.

The fire was reported around 1:30 a.m. at the Mustang Crossing Apartments, located in the 1800 block of Mustang Drive.

When Richmond Fire Department crews arrived, one apartment building was already heavily involved in flames.

As a precaution, multiple nearby buildings were evacuated while firefighters worked to contain the fire.

No injuries have been reported at this time. Officials have not released information on how many residents were displaced.

The Richmond Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
