A person was struck and killed by a train early Tuesday morning in Humble, according to police and railroad officials.

The incident happened around 12:30 a.m. near the intersection of North Railroad Avenue and West 1st Street.

According to a statement from Union Pacific, the individual was trespassing on the railroad tracks when they were struck. The pedestrian died at the scene.

Union Pacific confirmed that the train crew was not injured but witnessed the incident.

“The train crew was not hurt, but witnessed the incident and is being offered support,” the statement read.
