Pedestrian found dead in middle of road in apparant hit-and-run crash in southwest Houston

HOUSTON, Texas – A man was found dead in the middle of the street in southwest Houston on Friday morning in what officers believe was a hit-and-run crash.

Houston police responded to the incident around 3 a.m. and found the man dead in the roadway on the 600 block of Almedia Genoa.

Although details are limited, officers said that down the road, a pickup truck was involved in a crash, attempted to flee, and then hit another vehicle. It’s not clear if the driver of the pickup also hit the man, but police are looking into all possibilities and canvassing the area for surveillance video.

Police said the call about the pickup truck crash came in about an hour before the man found dead in the middle of the street call came in, but they are not saying the crashes are connected at this time.
