Investigators say whoever was behind the operation tried to hide the vehicles by covering them with tarps, almost like wrapping Christmas presents. But officers quickly uncovered the cars, removing the tarps as they processed the scene.

HACTF detectives assisted with identifying the stolen vehicles and parts, while Baytown police worked to document the scene and move the investigation forward. Baytown PD was in the process of contacting the district attorney’s office regarding potential charges.

Authorities credited teamwork between agencies for the successful recovery and investigation, calling it a strong example of coordinated law enforcement efforts during the holiday season.

No additional details have been released at this time.
