Roadway shutdown after large tree knocks down power lines in northwest Harris County

HOUSTON – Two roadways in northwest Harris were temporarily shutdown Monday morning after a large tree toppled on power lines, according to deputies with Constable Mark Herman’s Office.

The downed power lines created a serious traffic hazard near Cypresswood and Breckenridge Forest drives.

Lanes of traffic were shut down until debris was removed safely.

Spring Fire Department and CenterPoint Energy also responded at the scene.

Monday’s cold front bought powerful chilly winds, which created power outages increase across the Houston area.
