9-year-old injured in shooting after argument at SE Houston apartment complex

A 9-year-old girl is recovering after being struck by gunfire during an argument that turned violent early Monday at the Cullen Apartments in southeast Houston.

The shooting occurred just after midnight when two groups outside the complex got into a dispute and someone produced a firearm, according to investigators. Both groups fled after shots were fired. The 9-year-old was rushed to Texas Children’s Hospital and is in stable condition.


Two teens shot in parking lot after late-night Houston house party

Two teenagers were shot following a confrontation after a house party in Houston.

The shooting occurred just after 11:30 p.m. Saturday in a parking lot near Blodgett Street and Delano Street, according to Houston Police Department officials.

One teen was shot in the stomach and remains in critical condition, while the second victim suffered a gunshot wound to the foot and approached officers at the scene for help. Both were transported to local hospitals for treatment.


1M gallons of sulfuric acid spilled, some into ship channel from Channelview chemical leak

Investigators are working to determine the extent of a sulfuric acid spill in the Houston Ship Channel after a catwalk collapsed early Saturday morning at the B-W-C Corporation.

The collapse ruptured a six-inch pipeline, releasing sulfuric acid. Forty-four people were medically evaluated at the scene, and two workers from a nearby business were hospitalized with respiratory issues.


Trump, Zelensky meet at Mar-a-Lago amid Ukraine peace talks

Train crash in southern Mexico injures dozens

The Mexican Navy reported a crash on Sunday involving the Interoceanic Train near Nizanda.

The train was carrying nine crew members and 241 passengers. Of those, 139 passengers are out of danger, while 98 were injured.
