HOUSTON – A driver is dead after their pickup truck collided with a vehicle towing a boat and a trailer on the left shoulder of the Fred Hartman Bridge.
Around 12:27 p.m., Tthe Harris County Precinct 8 Constable’s Office received a report for a major crash on the northbound lanes of the bridge.

Preliminary investigation shows a pickup truck towing a boat and a trailer was disabled on the left shoulder, completely clear of traffic lanes. The vehicle was occupied by the registered owner and his brother.
Witnesses said a second pickup truck traveling northbound in the left lane drifted over the yellow fog line and struck the boat and trailer with the front left corner of the vehicle. The impact fatally injured the driver of the second truck.
The two brothers suffered minor injuries and were taken to a local hospital. They are expected to be released soon.
The incident remains under investigation. No additional information is available at this time.
