HOUSTON – The trial began Monday morning for Anthony Martin Landry, 57, who is charged with murdering 46-year-old attorney Jeffrey Limmer in a shooting at a McDonald’s along the West Interstate 10 service road in May of 2024.
What happened
According to Houston police, the incident happened around 6 p.m. on May 4, 2024 at 8147 Katy Freeway.
Officers responding to the scene found Limmer unresponsive with multiple gunshot wounds. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.
Investigators said the fatal confrontation began after a verbal disagreement inside the restaurant. Landry, dissatisfied with his order and seeking a refund, reportedly argued with staff. Limmer, an attorney with Lewis Brisbois law firm, attempted to calm the situation.
Police said the argument spilled outside, and after Limmer pushed Landry to the ground, Landry retrieved a gun from his vehicle and shot him twice.
Landry fled the scene in an early 2000s blue Ford pickup truck. He turned himself in to Houston police on May 10 and was booked into the Harris County Jail.
The trial is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. Monday. Further details and updates from the courtroom are expected throughout the day.
