On Nov. 27, officers responded to an apartment complex at 666 Maxey Road after getting reports that there was a dead woman inside one of the units.

When officers arrived, they were met by a man who said the woman had been staying with him since he met her on Nov. 19.

Paramedics responded and pronounced the woman, identified as Gamble, dead at the scene. Officers noticed Gamble had an abrasion on her face and bruising on her upper body.

Officers learned Gamble had been reported missing seven days before she was found. The Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office also responded to the apartment and believes Gamble had been dead for about three days before she was found.

An autopsy will determine the cause of death and the investigation is ongoing.
