According to the Houston Police Department, officers responded just before 1 a.m. to the 1100 block of Sydnor Street after residents reported hearing several gunshots. When neighbors stepped outside to check, they found an unidentified man, believed to be in his 30s, lying on the ground.

He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where officials said he died from his injuries.
Police said there were no known witnesses, aside from residents who reported hearing the gunfire. Detectives with HPD’s homicide division are now working to find out what led up to the shooting and who may be responsible.
