Eastbound lanes reopen after 18-wheeler loses load after striking bridge on Katy Freeway

HOUSTON – Multiple eastbound lanes on the Katy Freeway have reopened after an 18-wheeler overturned during a crash on Thursday morning, according to Houston TranStar.

Traffic going into downtown was temporarily impacted on the Katy Freeway at Houston Avenue bridge.

The crash was reported at 10:02 a.m. and impacted the right shoulder, right lane, and two center lanes.

Officials said the heavy truck lost its load after striking the Houston Avenue bridge.

No other vehicle was involved in the crash.

TxDOT crews responded to the incident and cleared debris and inspected the bridge.
