Firefighters rescue puppies from early morning house fire in north Harris County

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – Firefighters rescued two puppies from a burning home in north Harris County after five residents escaped safely early Thursday morning.
Crews from the Aldine and Westfield fire departments responded to a house fire in the 1700 block of Warwick Road around 1 a.m. Arriving firefighters reported heavy smoke and flames visible from the back of the home.
Two men and three women were able to get out of the house before firefighters arrived. Crews then went inside and rescued two puppies trapped in a burning room. Both were returned safely to their owners.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
