HCSO deputy, 2 others hurt in crash on Eastex Freeway feeder

A Harris County Sheriff’s Office deputy was involved in a crash late Sunday night while responding to a 911 call in north Harris County.

The collision happened around 11:30 p.m. in the 3800 block of Little York Road, near the Eastex Freeway feeder. Investigators said the deputy was traveling eastbound without lights or sirens when a westbound Pontiac attempted a left turn in front of him.

The deputy, a 25-year-old, struck the vehicle and suffered a cut to his arm. He was treated at the scene. The driver and passenger in the Pontiac were taken to the hospital by ambulance as a precaution.

According to deputies, the deputy had the right of way at the time of the crash. The driver of the SUV is now under investigation for driving under the influence.
