HOUSTON – A woman seeking pain relief after childbirth was allegedly sexually assaulted by an unlicensed chiropractor, Joshua Gomez, who has now been charged with sexual assault.

Court records show the incident occurred in 2023 at One Life Chiropractic in Katy. The Harris County Sheriff’s Office will hold a news conference Friday at 10 a.m., as they believe there may be more victims he targeted.
The case came to light after the woman, several weeks postpartum, purchased a treatment package from Gomez for Pubic misalignment at the clinic. She grew concerned she wasn’t receiving the specialized care promised and raised her concerns with the staff.
Gomez, who had not treated her before, spoke with her privately and began a procedure using a Graston Tool. The woman alleges Gomez inappropriately touched her during the session and reportedly said, “This is where it gets spicy.”
After the incident, the woman complained to the clinic owner—Gomez’s brother—who refunded her money. She also reported the assault to the Texas Board of Chiropractic Examiners, which confirmed Gomez had been accused of similar misconduct involving other women.

According to the board, Gomez surrendered his chiropractic license in 2019 amid sexual misconduct allegations. Harris County Sheriff’s Office says at least 12 other survivors have come forward with complaints against Gomez, and they believe more victims may exist.
Gomez’s brother told detectives he was unaware of the circumstances surrounding the license surrender and was only responsible for paperwork and managerial duties. He was not authorized to treat or touch patients.
Joshua Gomez is currently held in Harris County Jail on a $75,000 bond. Anyone who may be a victim or has information is urged to contact HCSO.
