How to donate to victims of the Texas Hill Country floods

TEXAS – Texans from all over are coming together to help our neighbors in Central Texas who were devastated by a catastrophic flood on the Fourth of July that killed nearly 60 people.

To help those in need, we have compiled a list of how you can give back:

American Furniture Warehouse

Accepting donations now through Thursday, July 10. To donate, visit the American Furniture Warehouse located at 500 Pin Oak Rd. in Katy from 10 a.m. - 10 p.m.

Alvin ISD

Alvin High School’s student council is collecting relief items for our neighbors in central Texas. If you can, please consider dropping off supplies at the times and dates listed on the flyer!

Trae That Truth and the Relief Gang

In a social media post on IG, Trae said he’s headed to Kerrville to assist those in need. He’s bringing 18-wheelers with supplies and needs as the water goes down. Those in need are asked to contact the relief gang on Instagram. It’s not clear if they are accepting donations.

GoFundMe

GoFundMe has a section of its website dedicated to verified fundraisers for people affected by the Texas floods.

Papa John’s

Texas Papa John’s locations will donate 100% of profits from all orders on Tuesday, July 15, to support flood relief efforts in the Texas Hill Country.

Texas Search and Rescue

Texas Search and Rescue is a non-profit first responder organization providing search, rescue, and recovery operations in the Kerr County area affected by flooding.

Typhoon Texas

Starting July 6 - 10, drop off new or gently used donations, up to $50 worth, and recieve a complimentary ticket (up to four tickets per vehicle) to the waterpark.

All donated items will go directly to support local families impacted by the recent historic flooding. Waterpark tickets are limited.

Requested items include hygiene products, toiletries, trash bags, diapers, baby wipes, and clean, gently-used clothing and shoes.

Donation Drop-Off Location:

Typhoon Texas — 555 Katy Fort Bend Road, Katy Texas 77494 from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. Guests will need to drive through to the first parking row at Typhoon Texas by the Donation Container, and a staff member will assist.

The Community Foundation

Starting July 7, a volunteer reception center will open at 855 Hays Street, Kerrville, operating from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The center will serve to accept and register volunteers, as well as connect them with assistance requests from homeowners and other volunteer organizations.

The Gardens Houston

Monday, 9 - 6 p.m.

Tuesday, 9 - 6 pm.

Together for Texas (Sponsored by KPRC 2)

In response to the devastating Fourth of July floods across Central Texas, KPRC, KSAT12, Graham Media Group, and Gray Media, Inc. have united to launch an urgent donation drive called Together for Texas.

The campaign aims to support relief and recovery efforts for families and communities severely impacted by the disaster. All of the funds raised will go directly to on-the-ground efforts in flood-affected areas through The Salvation Army.

Good360

Good360, a disaster response and recovery nonprofit organization, is mobilizing urgently needed supplies to support families and communities facing unimaginable loss.

Here is a list of items they’re looking for in donations:

  • Cleanup kits (gloves, bleach, mops) to help families safely return to their homes
  • Bottled water and hygiene supplies to reduce health risks
  • Diapers, wipes, and infant formula for displaced infants and toddlers
  • Clothing, protective boots, and other essentials for families who have lost everything
  • Fans and dehumidifiers to prevent mold and protect health in damaged homes
  • Portable solar equipment to provide critical power for response operations and community shelters

Vantage Point Farm, LLC

Located in Tomball, Vantage Point Farm will be accepting donations through Thursday, July 10. They will be headed to deliver the items to Kerrville and Georgetown on Thursday afternoon.

Texas Community Recovery

As of Sunday, Texas Community Recovery does not currently need volunteers, but they are compiling a volunteer list for future needs. The Salvation Army Kerrville is the contact point for this volunteer database. To sign up, visit tcr.communityos.org or call 830-465-4797.

At this time, food and water donations are not needed. Monetary donations can be made through the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country.

Humble ISD donation collection

The Humble ISD CTE departments have launched a unified donation drive to assist neighbors recovering from the devastating floods through Wednesday, July 8.

Two donation centers are open from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. for community members to drop off essential items:

  • North AG Barn: 4020 Mills Branch Drive, Kingwood, TX 77345
  • South AG Barn: Visitor parking lot of Turner Stadium

Items needed include: Household cleaners (bathroom & floor), mops, brooms, scrub brushes, rubber gloves, Clorox wipes, vinegar, baby items (diapers, wipes), hygiene products, water, Gatorade, paper products (toilet paper, paper towels, plates, bowls, plastic cutlery), bedding (sheets, pillows, pillowcases), non-perishables, cat food, and dog food.

Mercy Chefs

The disaster relief nonprofit based in Virginia is currently on the ground in Kerr County, Texas, providing free, hot, chef-prepared meals to families impacted by flooding, as well as first responders and volunteers.

Lunch: 11 a.m.–1 p.m. | Dinner: 4–6 p.m.
