HOUSTON, Texas – Houstonian and philanthropist Jim “Mattress Mack” McIngvale is continuing his generosity by giving away 100 mattresses to veterans and first responders ahead of the July 4 weekend.
On Thursday, Mack and Gallery Furniture gifted 100 Simmons Serta bedding mattresses as a way to say “thank you” for their service.

The mattresses were first-come-first-served and only required the following forms of ID:
Veterans:
Veteran Health Identification Card (VHIC)
Veteran ID Card (VIC)
State-issued driver’s license or ID with “Veteran” designation
DD Form 214 (must be shown with a valid photo ID)
Military Retiree ID Card
First Responders:
Valid Official ID Card
Official Badge
