Man dies after getting trapped inside donation box he broke into in Crosby

CROSBY, Texas – A man is dead after investigators said he broke into a large donation box overnight Wednesday in Crosby and got trapped inside.

It happened around 1:30 a.m. when deputies with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office got a call for a man trying to break into the donation box on Crosby Lynchburg Road off Highway 90.

When they arrived, deputies said the unidentified man was trapped inside and couldn’t breathe. Crosby firefighters arrived and tried to extricate him and perform CPR, but to no avail, and the man died.
