Woman dead after shots fired from passing vehicle in NW Houston

HOUSTON – A woman is dead after police say several shots were fired from a vehicle passing by, at least one of which struck the woman.

Police say it happened in the 8100 block of W. Tidwell.

According to Lt. Larry Crowson with HPD, the woman was outside a convenience store, possibly on a bicycle, when a dark-colored SUV or station wagon drove by.

Crowson says several gunshots were fired from someone in the vehicle, at least one of which struck the woman.

Police are searching for surveillance video that may be able to give them a better clue as to who the suspect or suspects are.
