Man shot several times, left for dead by apartment dumpster in west Harris County

HOUSTON – Authorities are trying to piece together what led up to a man’s death after he was found with several gunshot wounds at an apartment early Monday morning in west Harris County.

It happened around 2 a.m. when Sheriff’s Deputies with Watch Command said they were called to do a welfare check at The Gallery at Katy over on S Mason Road.

When they arrived, investigators found an unidentified man with several gunshot wounds by the dumpster outside. He was rushed to a hospital, where he died from his injuries.

Witnesses reported hearing gunshots in the area but did not see anything, so police are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS (8477).
