Get the summer rolling by visiting these Houston-area pools opening ahead of the end of the HISD school year

HOUSTON – If you’re ready to get your summer going in Houston, there’s some pools that are opening to the public during Memorial Day weekend.

The city of Houston is planning to open 10 pools starting Saturday. Compared to last year, the city only opened six pools during Memorial Day weekend.

The public pools will only be open on weekends until Houston Independent School District school year ends on June 4.

On June 10, the city will reopen pools and start its full weekday schedule.

Pool schedule (adjustments based on available staffing):

• Saturday - 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.
• Sunday - 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
• Monday - 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
