Jason Robert Thonhoff, 43, was arrested Thursday by the Harris County Constable Pct. 1 Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) unit. According to Constable Alan Rosen, the arrest came after a lengthy investigation that began back in 2023.

“This should be a warning to anyone trying to prey on children,” Rosen said. “We patrol cyberspace, and we will catch you. Protecting kids is our top priority.”

Investigators say Thonhoff engaged in a series of sexually explicit conversations and actions online, believing he was communicating with a teenage girl. In reality, he was talking to an undercover deputy.

The most recent activity reportedly happened just a few weeks ago in late April.

Thonhoff is now charged with online solicitation of a minor—a felony that could land him in state prison for up to 10 years.

Pct. 1 officials are urging anyone who may have information about Thonhoff’s interactions with minors to call their office at 713-222-4929.
