Person hit, killed by vehicle on I-10 service road in Houston’s Fifth Ward

HOUSTON – Houston Police said a person has died after being hit by a vehicle on the I-10 service road in the Fifth Ward.

It happened on the inbound lanes in the 5200 block of the I-10 service road, near Lockwood Drive.

Vehicular crimes investigators are en route to a fatal auto/pedestrian crash at 5200 I-10 East Fwy inbound service road near Lockwood Drive.

The crash occurred about 2:40 pm. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at a hospital. Please avoid the area.#hounews #houtraffic

Police say the collision happened around 2:40 p.m. The person was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police ask for people to avoid the area.
