Authorities searching for police chase suspect who ditched Corvette after crash in Kingwood

Police are searching a wooded area for a man linked to a police pursuit after he wrecked his car and abandoned it in the Kingwood area.
The situation has caused a heavy police presence in the 1900 block of W Lake Houston Parkway and Magnolia Cove Drive. Sources tell KPRC 2 that authorities with Harris County Pct. 4 responded to the scene of an accident involving a Chevrolet Corvette in the area.
When officials arrived, they found out that the car was linked to a police chase in Liberty County.
Pct. 4 constable deputies are searching for the suspect, believing he fled into the woods after the wreck.
A police perimeter has been set up, and canines are on the way. Kingwood residents are asked to avoid the area during the search.
