Armed armored truck robbery reported in northeast Harris County

HOUSTON – A search is underway for two men involved in an armed armored truck robbery on Friday in northeast Harris County, according to Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez.

Deputies responded to the incident at 2:20 p.m. on 5 Uvalde Road.

HCSO said the armored truck driver was taking money inside the Food Town store when two men followed him in, beat and pepper-sprayed him. They attempted to steal his bag of money but failed.

The two suspects ran off and fled in a white vehicle.

The truck driver reportedly went outside and then came back into the store.

Deputies learned a third man went back into the store, beat the armored truck driver and grabbed the bag.

This incident marks the third armored truck robbery this month.
