HOUSTON – At least one person is dead after a vehicle crashed into a power pole on Houston’s south side Monday evening.
It happened around 6:25 p.m. near the intersection of Natchez Street and Allegheny Street, just off of Old Spanish Trail.
First responders arrived and found a vehicle in the back of a property at the location. Authorities say it appears the vehicle may have been traveling eastbound on Old Spanish Trail when it hit a light, went through the parking lot and struck the pole.
At least one person was found dead inside the vehicle.
Westbound lanes of Old Spanish Trail are closed between SH-288 and Allegheny Street at this time. Power on the block is also out as a result of the crash.
