Investigators say a driver in a white Nissan Versa was traveling southbound in the area when he hit a black Ford Explorer SUV traveling in the same direction. The contact caused the Explorer to swerve into the median and roll over. A driver of a Chevy Silverado truck also struck the SUV after it lost control.
Paramedics with Houston Fire Department rushed to the scene, and the driver of the SUV, a 66-year-old man, was pronounced dead. The driver of the truck was transported to a nearby hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.
The drivers of the other two vehicles remained at the scene, and neither showed signs of intoxication or impairment.
