Crash between two 18-wheelers causes serious traffic on I-45 in north Harris County

HOUSTON – Drivers will begin their Friday morning with some serious traffic after two 18-wheelers crashed into each other on I-45.

Details are limited, but according to Harris County Pct. 4 Constable Mark Herman, the two heavy trucks collided earlier this morning but it’s unclear what caused it. There’s also no report on both drivers’ respective conditions.

What we do know, however, is I-45 North towards Greends Road has been shut down, and will remain so for a while as crews investigate and work to cleanup the wreckage. Hardy is also backed up.

Drivers, as a result, are encouraged to avoid the area or find an alternate route.
