Man pronounced dead at hospital after being shot on Katy Freeway

A man has died after being shot in the Katy area Friday night.

The shooting happened at the 23600 block of Katy Fwy. The man was transported to a nearby hospital by Life Flight helicopter, but he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

Three feeder lanes in the area have been temporarily closed while investigators inspect the scene.

There is no information regarding suspects, and the identity of the victim isn’t available at this time.

The shooting was reported by Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez on X.
