HOUSTON – A Texas DPS trooper is recovering in the hospital Friday morning after the Harris County Sheriff says he was hit by an oncoming vehicle while conducting a traffic stop.
It happened just before 3 a.m. when the unidentified trooper was conducting a traffic stop on Hwy 249 & Upland Willow in northwest Harris Co. That’s when Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said another driver, possibly drunk, hit the trooper and kept driving for about a block before getting out of their car and taking off on foot.
