Expect delays: Roadwork on Will Clayton Parkway to impact travel to Bush Intercontinental Airport

Travelers heading to George Bush Intercontinental Airport over the next two weeks should expect delays due to scheduled concrete repairs along Will Clayton Parkway.

Starting Monday, Sept. 16 through Friday, Sept. 27, Houston Public Works said it will be replacing concrete panels on both the inbound and outbound lanes of Will Clayton Parkway, weather permitting.

The construction work will take place daily between 4 a.m. and 7 p.m., and while at least one lane will remain open during repairs, traffic on Will Clayton may be reduced to just one lane between I-69 and Lee Road.

The repairs are expected to cause significant delays, and travelers are encouraged to plan extra time or use alternate routes to reach the airport.

Drivers are urged to follow posted signs, cones, and instructions from flagmen in the work zones.
