Friendswood man arrested on child pornography charges

A Friendswood man has been arrested on charges related to child sexual abuse material found on his devices.

On August 14, authorities with Galveston County Sheriff’s Office and the Houston Metro Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force executed a search warrant at a home on the 800 block of Falling Leaf Drive in Friendswood.

Six adults, including 30-year-old Akshay Kumar, were found in the residence and detained.

Upon searching Kumar’s devices, officials found child sexual abuse material.

Kumar was arrested and charged with three counts of possession of child pornography. He was transported to Galveston County Jail, and his bond was set at $180,000.
