18-wheeler overturns on IH-610, sending oil, pipes across road

A car wreck involving an overturned 18-wheeler has halted several lanes on IH-610.

The accident occurred at around 2:25 p.m. on IH-610 North Loop Westbound at Hardy Toll Rd., closing the left shoulder lane, left lane and three center lanes. Oil and pipes from the vehicle were sent sprawling through the lanes.

No injuries have been reported from the wreck, and Houston Police Department officials tell KPRC 2 that it is basically a matter of cleaning up the oil spill and the pipes that were strung across the road.

All impacted lanes were officially reopened around 6:15 p.m. Saturday evening.
