Galveston residents may see discoloration in their water caused by ‘disruption to water line system’

GALVESTON – The city of Galveston is giving residents a heads-up after some have reportedly experienced discoloration in their drinking water.
According to a post on Facebook, the water discoloration is due to a disruption to the water line system from capacity and pressure changes from the Gulf Coast Water Authority construction.

City officials said that residents may notice some discoloration to the tap water at their homes or place of business Monday morning.
They said that the water is normal and is still considered safe to drink.
Municipal Services crews are out flushing and testing the lines, and the water quality has been deemed safe for consumption. Crews will continue this work until we see water clarity in the system.
