HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – A man is in custody after authorities said he stabbed two people after flagging them down as they were driving by in North Harris County. One of the two victims died.
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office says it happened in the 2500 block of Sandlewood Trail Lane around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Deputies were called to the scene by a person who said there was a man stabbing a motorist who was driving by.
Authorities arrived and found a 40-year-old man who was standing outside holding a knife and a stuffed animal.
Deputies approached the man and tried to reason with him and calm him down, but he wouldn’t comply.
Deputies used a taser and were able to take him into custody.
According to authorities at the scene, the man stabbed two people after flagging them down as they were driving by. The first victim, a woman, was stabbed but was able to get away. Another person, a man, was also stabbed. He was able to drive away and made it back to his house before collapsing in the driveway.
The man’s family called EMS, but he was pronounced dead at the scene when they arrived.
Law enforcement say the suspect doesn’t live in the area and was believed to have been visiting a family member. He is also believed to have a mental illness.
Authorities are looking to interview witnesses as well as find any video surveillance and will send the information to the Harris County District Attorney’s Office to determine whether charges will be filed.
