According to court documents, Dennis Palmer II, 48, a peace officer with Harris County Sheriff’s Office crashed into a fence back in April 2024, Responding officers said Palmer crashed into a fence on Sharp Rd. in west Harris County when two cars were following him.

While talking to Palmer, the arresting officer noted in the affidavit that he smelled alcohol and found a can of White Claw that was “cold to the touch.” However, Palmer claimed he drank that White Claw “4 days prior to the crash” but admitted “he had taken Adderall and Gabapentin.”

After talking to a witness, the officer noted in the arrest paperwork that Palmer was actually the one following him before he followed another car. Basically, he told the officer that Palmer started following him but “did not know why.” After pulling into a parking lot, Palmer got out of his car, the witness said, and started “to yell at him that he was a cop and to get on the floor.”

Palmer shortly left after that, court records claim, and he started following another vehicle, but didn’t see the road curve up ahead and smashed his car into a fence. While denying his drinking, Palmer told the officer the reason he was following behind the first vehicle was because the driver hit his vehicle.
