Taco truck driver turns self in after killing pedestrian during hit-and-run in SE Houston

HOUSTON – A pedestrian died after being hit by a taco truck Sunday night while crossing a crosswalk in southeast Houston .
The incident happened at 9:10 p.m. on the 6500 block of Lawndale St.

According to the Houston Police Department , the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene after the taco truck driver initially fled the scene. Later on, police said the driver turned himself in, admitting he was the one who hit the pedestrian.
An investigation remains underway.
