Driver found dead from gunshot after crashing into gas pumps in SW Houston

Authorities are piecing together what led to a driver’s death in southwest Houston Thursday night after he crashed his car into gas pumps but was later discovered to have fatal gunshot wounds.

It happened around 9;45 a.m., when Houston police say the unidentified driver crashed into the gas pumps on Creekbend near S Gessner. Responding officers there found the driver, described only as a man, had been shot to death.

It’s unclear how he was shot before, so authorities do not have a motive, as of this writing, or were aware of which direction the driver’s vehicle came from, but an investigation remains underway.
