Houston-area school districts closing, delays schools due to heavy rain, flooding

Some areas around Lake Livingston have seen a foot of rainfall in the last 24 hours. This is causing major flooding concerns as this same area saw nearly a foot of rainfall earlier this week. Kingwood, Lake Conroe and the Huntsville area are all dealing with flooding as well.

Here is a list of other schools that have announced closures, and delays:

  • Cleveland ISD - closed Friday, May 3
  • Conroe ISD - closed Friday, May 3 ** 8th Grade Formal Dance for Stallion families moved to next Saturday, May 11th. Ticket sales continue next week. Conroe and Caney Creek High School proms will take place as scheduled.
  • Dayton ISD - closed Friday, May 3
  • Shepherd ISD - closed Friday, May 3
  • Livingston ISD - closed Friday, May 3
  • Goodrich ISD - closed Friday, May 3
  • Montgomery ISD - closed Friday, May 3
  • New Waverly ISD - closed Friday, May 3
  • Huntsville ISD - closed Friday, May 3
  • Willis ISD - closed Friday, May 3
  • Magnolia ISD - closed Friday, May 3
  • New Caney ISD - closed Friday, May 3
  • Splendora ISD - closed Friday, May 3
  • Spring ISD - Expecting bus delays - Friday, May 3
  • Humble ISD - closed Friday, May 3
  • Huffman ISD - closed Friday, May 3
