Person killed after getting hit by several cars on I-45 in La Marque

LA MARQUE, Texas – A person is dead after getting hit by several cars on I-45, leading to road closures for several hours.

Details are limited, as it’s an active scene, but the La Marque Police Department said on Facebook that authorities were called to a deadly crash on I-45 between Highland Bayou Park and the terminal overpass.

Preliminary information shared by police is the unidentified pedestrian is “associated with a disabled vehicle in the area” and was hit by several cars, resulting in their death.

Both the northbound and southbound lanes were closed for about five hours as a result. The roadways re-opened a little after 12:15 p.m. but as of this writing, authorities have not shared any new details.
