Report had been made against Klein Cain cosmetology teacher charged with sex trafficking in 2023

Kedria Grigsby (Harris County Sheriff's Office)

HARRIS COUNTY, TexasKlein ISD said they had received a report of alleged misconduct against a cosmetology teacher at Klein Cain High School back in Feb. 2023, but was told by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office she was not a suspect in any case.

Kedria Grigsby was taken into custody Monday on three counts of trafficking a child and three counts of compelling prostitution of juveniles.

Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said there were three victims in the case, a 15-year-old, 16-year-old, and 17-year-old who were reported runaways. He said it appears Grigsby had helped her son, Roger Magee, who was arrested in November 2022 for the trafficking of children and compelling prostitution.

“It appears Grigsby recruited troubled juveniles from local high schools by offering them a place to stay, which would be a hotel. Additional teen victims have come forward stating that Grigsby was also attempting to recruit them while attending school,” Gonzalez said on Monday when Grigsby was arrested.

Responding to questions from KPRC 2, Klein ISD said someone informed them in Feb. 2023 that they had filed a report in Harris County related to Grigsby. Right now, it is unclear what accusations were made in that report.

“That same day, our Klein ISD Police Department immediately contacted the Sheriff’s Office with the case number provided to us by the individual, and the Harris County Sheriff’s Office reported that Keidra Grigsby was not a suspect,” a spokesperson from Klein ISD said. “The next time we heard anything related to Keidra Grigsby was this Monday when the Sheriff’s Office contacted our police department regarding pending charges. The Klein Police Department then immediately apprehended Keidra Grigsby and assisted the Sheriff’s Office with her arrest. Again, any behavior harming children is deplorable, and we will always fully cooperate with our many law enforcement partners to ensure anyone engaging in such acts is brought to justice.”

KPRC 2 has reached out to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office to confirm the statement which was made by Klein ISD.
