Massive pothole causes nearly 15 flat tires on east Harris County freeway

This past Monday was off to a rocky start to say the least for some Houston drivers.

CHANNELVIEW, Texas – Drivers in east Harris County did not have a great start to their Monday morning after a massive pothole caused about 15 cars to get a flat tire.

It’s unclear how the pothole came to be, but TxDOT says it happened along the I-10 East Freeway heading westbound toward Monmouth in Channelview.

That’s where about 10-15 cars in the westbound/inbound lane suffered flat tires.

Look for alternate routes

As of late Monday afternoon, TxDOT said they completed repairs on the issue and shared a photo of the repairs.
