Houston firefighter accused of possessing video depicting child pornography

HOUSTON – A Houston firefighter is out of jail on bond after being arrested, accused of possessing a video depicting child pornography.

According to court records, Kenneth Zink was arrested Friday. He is charged with possession of child pornography. He posted a $25,000 bond and has since been released from jail.

Court records say Zink was found with a video of a girl under the age of 10 engaging in sexual conduct, and he was caught recording a 14-year-old girl in the shower.

A financial affidavit shows Zink works at Houston Fire Station 99, which is located near Bush Intercontinental Airport.

As part of his bond conditions, Zink is not allowed to have any contact with a minor under the age of 17.

The Houston Fire Department confirmed Sunday Zink has been employed by the department for 21 years. They said he will be removed from his assignment and placed on administrative status and the department has begun an administrative investigation.

“The employee’s actions, if true, do not reflect the values of the Houston fire department, nor do they speak for the thousands of hardworking firefighters who do great things every day,” the department said.

Zink also appeared in court on Monday.
