2 dead in crash on Southwest Freeway, highway reopened at Beechnut Street

HOUSTON – Two people died in a crash on the Southwest Freeway near Beechnut Street on Sunday.
The crash happened around 2:15 a.m.
Two sedans were involved in the incident. The front of one of the vehicles had a lot of damage, and the bumper came off.
The highway was closed from Bellaire Boulevard to Beechnut Street, but it has now reopened.
The victims have not been identified.
