Woman hospitalized after being shot during robbery in SW Houston

HOUSTON – A woman has been taken to the hospital after being shot during a robbery in southwest Houston Friday.
Houston Police said it happened around 8:30 p.m. in the 9000 block of Beechnut Street.
Police said two women were standing in the parking lot when they were approached by two men who demanded their money.
The women complied, but one of the men fired gunshots which struck one of the women.
The suspects fled the scene on foot. The woman who was shot was taken to a hospital in unknown condition.
Officers and investigators are at the scene collecting evidence and working to identify the suspects.
