Customer shot to death, employee injured at SW Houston tire shop; Suspect at large

A tire shop customer was killed and an employee was injured after a shooting late Tuesday night in Southwest Houston.

It happened before 9 p.m. at 24-Hour Service Repair on the South Loop West.

According to Houston police, the shooter is reportedly on the run.

Police haven’t said much about what may have led up to the shooting but say whoever did this came up to the shop and opened fire on that customer and employee with a rifle.

They say the customer’s car was being worked on at the tire shop.

“Looks like right now, the customer had come into the tire shop to get some type of work done. He was standing next to his car watching the employee work on his car when a suspect walked in the parking lot and fired several shots from what appears to be a rifle, striking the victim,” Lt. Crowson with HPD said.

When Houston police and fire responded, they found the two men with gunshot wounds.

The customer was shot multiple times and pronounced dead at the scene.

The employee had one gunshot wound. He was taken to an area hospital, and his injury was non life-threatening.

“Homicide investigators are talking to witnesses inside the tire shop. I believe there’s surveillance video (and) we’re trying to get that right now,” Crowson said.

Police haven’t said what, or if, there was a connection between the shooter or any of the people who were shot.

If you know anything, you’re asked to call Houston police.
