Man dead in house fire overnight in north Harris County

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – A man was reportedly killed after a fire broke out at a home in north Harris County early Monday morning.

The fire broke out in the 1310 block of Old Greens Road at around 1 a.m.

According to fire officials, units arrived and were told about a person who was trapped inside.

They later said that the man was confirmed dead at the scene.

Firefighters said it took about 30 minutes to put the fire out.

A woman and two children safely escaped the fire and were later taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation.

Additionally, fire officials said that numerous animals perished in the fire.

Although the cause of this fire hasn’t been determined, fire officials encourage residents to use caution if they have a space heater in their homes during the winter weather expected for the area this week.
