1 dead, 1 injured after double shooting in east Houston

HOUSTON – Police are now investigating after they said a person was found dead inside a vehicle in east Houston overnight.

The shooting took place around 2 a.m. on a bridge road on Clinton Drive above 610.

According to the Houston Police Department, officers discovered the car which had gone about 100 yards past the bridge before going off-road and coming to rest up against a train track.

Investigators said they found one person dead inside of the car, and another person injured by gunfire.

The injured person was taken to LBJ Hospital and is in an unknown condition.

HPD said they also located a bicycle at the scene with no rider. Police are working to determine if the shooter was on the bike, if the cyclist was struck, or if the bike is completely unrelated.
